White Mountain Motel

Wow, this place was awful!!! As we were planning to be in the beautiful nearby White Mountains all day, we didn't need much for our overnight. We chose this 'motel' due to the great location and low price point. We witnessed the manager (he told us his name is Mitch Hahn) on the sidewalk, yelling several times at the business next door. Just standing out there yelling! That business is an adorable Arcade with vintage pinball machines & snacks. We spent a couple of enjoyable hours playing & visiting with the friendly owners of that business. They did let us know that they have been trying to get the local PD to take action (but to no avail). We felt unsafe staying there, so we made sure our door was well locked (we even barricaded it, lol). We actually looked for hidden cameras (I know, w

Great price, clean & quiet. It's in walking distance for a lot of places if you go for a walk. The manager is super nice & responsive. Will definitely stay again.

It was my intention to hunker down for mushroom season, and use the hotel as basecamp. IMO this is one of the best locations to access a ton of ground for foraging oppurtunities. The host/managers are absolutely amazing people. The hospitality I received is unmatched. Plus, I was offered advice on where to go and what might be available. If you want to spend all day at a resort, on-site, go ahead and stay in Phoenix. If your seeking adventure, beautiful country, solitude in the forest, and are an active person in your travels: WMH is choice. Cheers, guys! Bravo

We usually stay in the bargain hotels, and this is one we'd go back to, without a doubt. The owner/manager was so nice. We'd forgot our credit card in the lobby and he brought it to our room. He works around the place, and seems to take pride in it. |The dog charge is the most reasonable I've encountered. It's within walking distance of a restaurant. The hotel was clean, and worth the price for an overnight. |Yes, it's a small room, but has all necessities, including refrigerator and microwave. I'm not sure why it's listed under other...|If you like bargain rooms with some patina to them, this is for you, too.

We stayed for 1 week in a large room with 2 separate rooms. One for us and one for the kids. There was a modest breakfast each morning that was perfect. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. It is an older building but we liked the nostalgia. For the price it was great.
