White Gables Motel

The rooms are full of mold and LOTS of spiders. No ventilation in the bathrooms, and layers upon layers of paint on the mold in there trying to cover it up from guests. They make you pay for your toilet paper after you use the first roll. I was so disgusted by the place, but it was during Lakes Jam so everything was booked in the area. I asked to have someone come clean the shower as there was someone else's nasty bar of soap sitting on the floor of the shower and was yelled at by the owners sister who manages it (who lives in one of the rooms and sits outside with a cat drinking all day and night) she told me that it was my room and how did they know I didn't put the soap there? I was furious and left for the day without being able to shower due to their lack of housekeeping and returned

DISGUSTING! We booked site unseen from another state then arrived with no place else to go (everywhere else was booked) Lead paint chips in the windows, one power strip for the TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc. No smoke detectors, leaky shower (manager saw it and never even bothered to offer to fix it) chipped broken bath floor tiles, (when the shower wouldn't stop leaking/dripping it would make the chipped tile floor wet and ya could break your neck) We found a drug scale under the bed, carpets hadn't been cleaned in YEARS I'm guessing. We finally found another hotel that could get us in and then (we had paid for a full week) we basically only got $120 back of our $370 for the 3 nights we stayed. They said no refunds when you pay for a week in advance although NOTHING we signed

It's ummm charming in a 1970s way. I would say you won't die from staying here. Actually I kinda like staying at the interesting little dumpy hotels. It's better than the same old, Super 8 n Best Western!!

Bait and tackle, nowhere in the area beats this place. Friendly people willing to help.
