Whiskey on the River

There was no hot water. The table on the porch didn't have propane so we could npt use the fire. The stove didn't work. I would not recommend this place because of the no hot water. We were there for 2 nights and could not shower because the water was freezing cold.

Just got back from my fourth stay here over the last three years since it first opened in 2022. I have three other more comprehensive reviews posted here the last three Octobers. I have stayed here for up to a week on previous trips, but this was a quick four nighter.. ||I really love this place. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The only thing you can hear is the train passing just across the river a few times each day. This was by far the worst place we have ever stayed at. The cabin was absolutely disgusting and looked like it had not been cleaned for quite some time. The lock never worked our entire stay here. The AC leaked constantly, forming puddles on the floor that we had to clean up. I called a total of 4 times regarding this and was told the team had been notified - no one ever came (even though, apparently, there is staff on-site; we never saw them). Eventually - we just stopped calling. We thought about leaving and asking for a refund, but the only person we spoke to was a grossly incompetent customer support agent; so we decided to just stay, not wanting to risk not receiving a refund. This cabin is definitely worth it and we will stay there again next time we go through this area! The atmosphere was so peaceful and refreshing. The cabin itself is adorable and the deck with the fireplace table was perfect on a chilly night! 10 out of 10 recommend and will stay again in the future! Truly a gem in the woods!

Off the grid and quiet. Loved the cabin, the beautiful trails and our view of the Leaf River. We were in #5. The walk to the river entry was a bit of a challenge for someone 4 months out of knee replacement but so worth it! Loved the guinea fowl. They were so friendly!
