You will enjoy this place. Not to many places like this anymore. They make you feel like family. Bathrooms and store were very clean. The staff was awesome. The people staying at the campground are really nice. You should check it out...
Whippernock is a very family friendly campground. There is plenty of partying going on for the people with campers but it is very muted for daily visitors and boaters. I've had a camper there since 2009 and have enjoyed every year I've been there.
They only have a few spots for "weekenders," the park is 85-90% full timers. They have a good store and gas on the water.
Back in the 80s this place was great! unfortunately now, it's rundown, trash everywhere, out of date bathrooms, and old broken campers. This place needs new owners/management and a overhaul. Dogs running free around the campground was a huge problem for us.
The surrounding area was actually alright. There's a boat launch on grounds. The campgrounds appeared to be occupied by long time renters. The woman at the booth was pleasant. The interaction inside the store was flat.
