Western Plaza Inn

Checked in to room 102 about 4pm after driving the Talimena Scenic Byway. This was a spontaneous stay as we decided we wanted to explore the next day before heading back to OKC. All hotels in Mena were booked so we found this one 45 minutes away.... Location is decent enough: shopping and restaurants close by. Nothing spectacular but we just needed 12ish hours! Bed was comfy and shower was nice size but water pressure was low....... 55 bucks, I wasn't tripping! Until I found the bed bugs. We saw one and stripped the entire bed apart and found many more. The floor under the bed was filthy. We grabbed our stuff and went directly to the office and the man that was at the desk didn't say a single word to us - he looked at me and I told him what we found and showed a picture and without a word

Positive: The location and the price. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Negative: The bathroom was small

My husband and I stopped here after a long road trip because this was a convenient location off the road. First of all, the room was really inexpensive. $50 for king sized smoking room. I wasn't expecting much for that price. But I was extremely surprised. The room was probably one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. The décor was usual hotel stuff, chair table picture. But there was no dust, no marks on the counter. . We ended up staying here again on the way back from our trip and it was just a great experience. Friendly person at the front desk, helpful and nice.

Major bed bugs! True nightmare!! Room 104 We did a light check when first checking into room and nothing found. Room appeared okay for a cheap room. Lucky a unit over stop us as we were heading out to dinner and told us they were leaving due to their room having bugs. Under the framing of bed. Thank god for good people! Went back into our room and pulled back mattress completely and under the metal framing was numerous various sized bed bugs. Small ones, big ones, dead ones. Pure nasty scene, we immediately grabbed our stuff and left. Front desk did not seem to care. Do not stay here and think it will be different and if you do you better flip the room and truly verify for sure. Nasty!

They didn't serve breakfast but there is a McDonald's and a Burger King close by. If you prefer a sit-down breakfast, there are a couple of local places just a few blocks away.
