West Bend State Recreation Area Campground

We stayed 6/28/2024. $23.00 for electric site + $7.70 nonresident reservation fee + $0.97 tax + $0.35 tourism tax for a total of $32.02 (not bad). Nice site (110E) with plenty of room for our 25ft camper. Decent cell service. Showere house was located in the other loop had 2 showers for men and women, good shower heads, hot water and plenty of pressure. Water spigot was right next to our site which I didn't like. Also did not like the aluminum picnic table.

Normally a campground that is packed solid, this trip saw it lightly used for a Sunday through Wednesday stay. MAYFLIES! They are intense and annoying, but not harmful, and the birds seem to appreciate the meal. Weather was cool and breezy, and the water was fantastic. I do need to take one star away. The Bathrooms in campground 1 probably need a deep cleaning, or deeper than what they have been getting. My girls complained of an abundance of spiders on that side. The mens side had an abundance of toilet paper wads stuck to walls, etc. I removed a few myself. Ugh... People. One other issue: When I used the dump station to empty our wastewater tanks, I got a 5 gallon bucket of "potable" water-- it was VERY yellow with high turbidity (cloudy). Great campground! Very peaceful with lots of wildlife and lake access!

Nice boat ramp. plenty of lanes to put boats in. Clean restrooms Nice place to clean fish 👍

Great place to drop in for fishing. Large ramps. No crowds.
