Customer Reviews
I did like this campground and would likely go back. It’s quiet despite being very full… there were only a couple sites open at any point the week I was there and it’s mid-August. The lakes are pretty and the campground is heavily shaded (which I take as a plus but it is also hard to find sunlight for solar on most of the sites). There are permanent fire pits so as long as there isn’t a stage II fire ban (currently there is as of yesterday) you can have a fire. You will need to make sure to bring your own firewood as while many of the campgrounds around here sell it, this one does not. The cons: there is no way to know if the campground is full without driving 8 miles of dusty bad roads. They are doing road grating work now (2025) but even the freshly grated roads are very dusty and bumpy
Ok but too shady for my solar and Starlink needs, no potable water and really no views. Lakes are small and being drawn down. $16/$8 senior, only 12 sites, self pay. some are walk in sites suitable only for tenters. One nice vault toilet, some garbage containers. No cell signal. Eight 8 miles of washboard road to access.
Bathrooms clean and a few decent campsites. No wood or water available. Lots of fun hiking in close proximity. Campground could use some love as the tables have sunk pretty low into the ground
Very nice campground area. The only bad thing is the mosquitoes are bad.
Currently, (7/4/23) the place is still covered in snow, and the self pay station is destroyed. There's only about one campsite thats not covered in snow by the time we left. Fishing is good in those lakes on the bottom, and it's a very pretty place. If you're looking for somewhere to go camping and fishing, that's definitely the place. There's lots of bear warnings everywhere so be careful.
