Watch Hill Inn

Previous reviews on TripAdvisor highlight that the Watch Hill Inn is not the classic Relais and Chateau experience, and they're correct. If you want the classic experience, you should stay at the Ocean House or perhaps even the sister property Weekapaug Inn. If, however, you are with children and do not have the celestial munificence to have multiple rooms (or suite) at either of those properties for an extended period of time, yet want access to those creature comforts, you will find yourself at the Watch Hill Inn. If your expectations are in line with what the hotel is you'll have a nice stay. If you are expecting something else, than you won't. My stay at Watch Hill Inn was very disappointing. The biggest issue wasn’t the property itself but the way it was run. I saw managers speaking to their employees in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner — right in front of guests. It created such an uncomfortable atmosphere, like the staff were constantly walking on eggshells. On top of that, I was shocked when an employee randomly entered my room without notice. There was no knock or explanation, which felt like a huge invasion of privacy. For a place that advertises itself as a luxury stay, this level of management and respect for guests is completely unacceptable.

Incredibly disappointed in this Relais and Chateaux property. In Watch Hill for a wedding weekend and booked a $1400 per night 2 BR suite. No one available at registration at 5:30pm on a Friday to check us in or give us information about the property. Dragged suitcases from building to building and up several flights of stairs without any assistance from staff. No guidance on where to park either. Had to make multiple calls just to get keys provided and access wifi. Poor level of service overall for this type of property. Neither bedroom had any sort of curtains or black out shades for the windows which made sleeping past sunrise impossible. Definitely not worth the price, cannot recommend and will not return to this property

We stayed a night at the Watch Hill Inn while traveling through the area. We have been to Watch Hill twice, both times staying at the Ocean House but they have a two night minimum and we only could stay one night so we tried the sister property. The room was nice and we had a nice view of the harbor. Most of the amenities are up at the Ocean House which you have access too staying at the Inn. They will shuttle you back and forth or you can walk the 1/4 mile or so up to Ocean House. The biggest thing I didn’t like is that it feels like an annex to Ocean House and not a stand alone property. The desk is not staffed after 9:00 pm so if you have an issue you deal with Ocean House. The staff was friendly and competent, the room was clean and comfortable. It is expensive but not Ocean House expe

Decent apartment style room but building dated, noise from room above. Reception and services nonexistent, coordination with Ocean House weak . Ability to use Ocean House facilities almost makes price worthwhile.
