The Campground (Waldron specifically) was clean and modern, but was not one of our favorites of a 1 month trip across the west. We mostly stayed in FS campgrounds, which tend to offer more natural beauty. While the lake is somewhat close, you can't walk to it easily, and you can't see it. You're near the mountains, but you can't see them either. If you have a boat, this would be a good place to make a base camp. Next time we'll boondock in the National Forest or find a better campground. The playground is really just a swing set. There are nice flat fields for sports, so that's a plus. If you're looking for a hike, check out Chilco Mtn.

Had an excellent time in a cabin here. Our cabin was adjacent to sites our family had reserved, so we were all together, which was great. The Kestrel cabin was just big enough for a futon, a bunk with a double mattress (a real mattress) on both top and bottom. There was a small table and seating inside as well as a wall unit for heating and cooling. It was clean, had a great patio, and opened up to a nice grassy area. The showers weren’t too far away, the bathrooms were clean, and everyone was friendly. The picnic area was great for our large group. Clean with plenty of seating and a serving table and huge fire pit (which we didn’t use). Great experience!

Space 194. Nice park. Late September is a nice time to visit. Locals can actually get a spot. We would like higher fire rings, like many of the campgrounds. Safer around kids and seniors.

Well shaded, spacious, and nicely kept campground. Bike paths and paved roads. Free dump station onsite.
