Wakota Inn & Suites

This is a two-star hotel, don't expect much more. This is a very old hotel in Fair shape, expect old amenities and poor service. No hot water, that's kind of an important thing in a colder state. They charged me full rate and then they told me no hot water, WTH? Staff was rude, they advertised breakfast included but they had nothing, the door was locked. No food, coffee or drinks. Beware

Buyer beware, this is not a 4 star hotel, maybe a 2 or a stretch to a 3. Rooms are very old , as are all the amenities at this hotel. When I got there after they charged me full rate , they informed me that they had no hot water, Kind of an important thing in minnesota , one of the colder states. They also advertise free breakfast, Which there is nothing, Not Even coffee or drinks. Staff was rude and not professional. Take this hotel off your list of choices and Avoid a disappointing experience.

I stayed there last weekend with my wife and daughter. Overall, it was not a bad experience. The first time I walked in to check in , I had to dail "0" to check in. Due to the fact that the front area was locked overall, it was not bad. A couple of things i noticed in the room there were a few holes in the room walls. The air conditioners did not work. Also, there was no chain lock on the inside of the door. Also, the side entrance door to tue building had a card scanner but did not work and did not lock the door. You cloud open that door by just pulling on it.

I had the opportunity to stay at Wakota Inn and Suites for a total of about 14 weeks throughout 2016. It was great. The staff was unwaveringly friendly and helpful; the room was super clean; the bed was king-size and exceptionally comfortable. Staying a few weeks at a time, I got an excellent weekly rate. Also, having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was very convenient and saved me quite a bit of money as I didn't have to eat out every meal (there's a grocery store nearby, but also several eating establishments, if you prefer to eat out). It's really well-located for business in the Twin Cities and Woodbury with access to 10/61 within a few blocks. I will definitely stay again at Wakota Inn and Suites!

Decent place.. No complaints. Reasonable price, clean carpets. I was pleased that we didnt need to call ahead...walk in, pay cash ($60 deposit, better then $100 like most) staff were super chill. All in all, great place. Could have probably given them 5 stars but nothings perfect. Maybe, better coffee stuff in the room but at least it came with a little coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. Def. my FAV place in Cottage Grove 🙃
