Wading River Motel

The rooms had large roaches and all types of strange bugs. I revoked one star for each bug I saw on my first night staying here. The doors lock from the outside and they don’t give you keys, so you have to either leave your door open with all your personal possessions in your room open to be stolen or call each time you need someone to come and unlock your room. There’s only one way in and out to park your car which seems hazardous. The beds in the room are a children’s bunk bed which was extremely difficult for me to get in and out of due to its small size. For anyone on vacation looking for somewhere to stay, this is NOT A MOTEL. It used to be, but it was converted to a shelter for the homeless and those in need of temporary housing for any given reason.

It was very clean, and the pool was nice with doors from the rooms leading right to the pool area. Nicely landscaped. The motel is very outdated and in need of upgrading, like the bathroom and old-fashioned turn-key entry. The beds were very small for full-sized, no queen or king sizes, and even at only 5'7" tall my feet hung over the bed.Mattress not very comfortable, but I am used to a super firm one. Other rooms in the Riverhead/Hampton Bay area were twice the price.I think if I go back to the same area I will pay extra for a little more modern & comfortable place.|
