Volcano Bunkbed House

Sigrid has a nice setup here in the jungle. It’s recommended you have your own car as it is not close enough to walk too. It is a house with a full kitchen and living room upstairs. Kitchen is great for meals and even baking. There is Outdoor living space with hammocks. Downstairs are the four share rooms. Beds and pillows are inconsistently comfortable so pick wisely. Awesome hostel. Clean rooms, clean sheets on the beds, amazingly big bathrooms. Had a campfire with a local - musican one of the nights, which was really entertaining. Thank you Sigrid, Po, and Phil for making us feel so welcome. MAHALO

It's a very beautiful place. Clean and quiet. The most part I love about the volcano bunkbed house, is their showers. They have big, beautifully granite tiling showers with double shower heads. The shower has a stain glass window that light up the bathrooms. You might not want to stay on saturdays, cause the so called manager don't work on saturdays. He believes in sabbath. So every saturdays he doesn't work and he believes that on sabbath day it's a day of rest for him. Sabbath day falls only on Saturday. Every saturday that guy John turns off all the electric. Us as tenants and guest have to suffer with no electric every saturdays from 7:30 in the morning to 7:30 at night.

Oh my goodness!. I had a great time here. The owners are so friendly and caring. Great place and you definitely have nothing to worry about.

Unreachable by any regular car. Literally one of the WORST dirt roads on the Island. 25 miles from Hilo and NOT near Volcano Getto neighborhood
