Virginia Highland Haven Airstream Park

It's not a traditional campground. It's exclusive to airstreams. The person taking calls was rude and off-putting. I called seeking part time employment as an activities director. Apparently the whole thing is run under a non profit umbrella and the proceeds from purchased spaces gets funneled back to the property and not any sort of salaries or serving charities, or anyone but themselves. He kept shouting "we don't need anything!" He did not like my questions and clearly wanted to end our call asap. Maybe he was grumpy because he was hangry or maybe he's just a tool. One things for sure, you DO need something there... Better communications skills would be a good start. I wouldn't go there even if I did have a silver bullet. I'd rather go to a friendly affordable spot near Floyd. Green A

Beautiful setting, welcoming people, challenging drive in on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Secure the dishes!

This was our second stay at this gem of a Airstream only campground. What a warm welcoming community. Most staying are shareholders in the property and all are vested in keeping its natural beauty. The grounds are impeccably maintained. There are hiking trails to a waterfall. Community fire pit. A clubhouse which we haven’t set foot in. Just love love love the atmosphere!!!

An Airstream-only campground in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia that has breathtaking views and great hospitality. This is small (46 sites) park with full water/sewer/30A electric hookups that is in southwest Virginia about 25 miles southwest of Roanoke, VA. & 16 miles north of Floyd, VA. The sites are immaculate with concrete patios and level gravel driveways. The sites are somewhat close together, but since this park doesn't allow RV's to stay over the winter, the rigs are in nice (often new) shape and fully roadworthy (unlike some other places I've seen). We needed a getaway to get some much needed sleep and relaxation after a few hectic months at work. This was EXACTLY what we needed. The park host and shareholders were super friendly and helpful but not in an overwhelming way. We were greeted right away, and asked if we needed help, and then left to our own devices. The views are good even if you are not directly over the cliff. The sites are close, but not so close that there is not privacy. (I've been to campgrounds where you can look in your neighbors window...) It's very peaceful with nature surrounding you and a waterfall in hiking distance. Bring what you need the closest thing is a (well stocked) Dollar General, but not much else. Closest town is either Floyd (which does have some good restaurants) or Norfolk. It was definitely w
