Villas On the Lake

I loved this place it was very spacious. The couches were a bit outdated and none of the rooms had any ceiling fans. So when sleeping at night it was hot. We stayed in the 3 bedroom and we had more than enough room. It was a great stay. The pool was a good size but didn't have any bathrooms by so you have to walk all the way back to your room. If you asked me I would definitely recommend this place.

Horrible is being nice. This is not a RCI quality facility. Debbie was nice but misleading in the condition of the condo. She did tell us that all units except 8 had been sold and 4 of those 8 were in renovation status. That's why there was loud music every morning at 8-both units to either side of us were being worked on. The fence blocking the 2nd pool and sports area is there because all those units on the lake itself have been sold! The unit I did have was infested with ants. Not a few, a few thousand. I bought ant traps and spray as I couldn't afford to go elsewhere. The furniture was nasty and one mattress had a blood stain on it! The location worked and we still did all the things we wanted to just didn't spend our usual do nothing day in a nice location as this was not somewhere yo

The unit we checked into was DIRTY. There was hair in 2/4 beds and when we called the front office, they didn’t seem surprised to hear so. There is no staff on property after 5pm so we were told to use the spare bedding for the sofa sleeper and someone would bring more bedding in the morning. That doesn’t help that there was only 1spare set and 2 beds that needed to be changed, also, we were utilizing the sofa sleeper so what bedding could we use for that? We ended up staying up to wash the bedding for all 4 beds which is inconvenient after traveling all day. ||||The first floor bathroom also smelled of urine and the smell continued into the attached bathroom. The cabinets in the kitchen and in the bathrooms were old and a few knobs were missing. The windows were old so we could hear all the noise from outside. The stove was old; I did not even try to use it. The microwave worked fine. The bathroom sinks were old and stained but usable. The lock on the pool gate was hard to get open. Eventually the lock was removed by management, and we could just walk in. The towels were thick and soft, but several had holes and seams coming apart. The sheets were threadbare, and the seams were coming apart. There was only one kitchen dish towel, so bring your own if you want more. This place had more cons than pros, but it was livable and at least it did not small bad.

Our review of this resort is one of a warning. Do not EVER go to this resort. We have never seen an RCI property so dilapidated, poorly maintained, and for all intents and purposes, unsafe. The portion of the resort that was on the lake had been sold off and fenced off so that no access could be gained to the lake. Walking surfaces in the parking area and sidewalks were uneven and dangerous. No security at the gate meant we had to fumble our way through a late check in. The pool area is unsafe for small children. The security fence is rusted off and hanging without supports and blowing in the wind. The wood trim and 2nd story porch areas on the units were so rotten that they were unsafe to walk on. The fireplace was for looking...not using. The windows were filthy and hard to see through.
