Villamare Resort

Title: Disappointing stay at 1201 Villamar - Issues Downplayed and Unresolved My recent stay at unit 1201 Villamar was far below expectations, and the subsequent attempts to resolve the issues were equally frustrating. The property had several significant problems, including holes in the walls, painting needs, and stains on the floor. A major inconvenience was the poorly designed bedroom and bathroom setup; the bathroom sink area was completely open to the sleeping area. This meant that if anyone needed to use the sink or turn on the light during the night, the light would inevitably disturb anyone asleep in the bedroom. Liked this place until they started doing construction on it while we're hear with young kids. Yelling, sawing, hammering... All starting at 8AM. Can't use the balcony, can't sleep... unreal. Literally throwing things onto the balcony.

We loved our time at Villamare! The complex seemed to be well maintained for the most part! The elevators did seem to have some issues, sometimes it would take a couple of tries for them to start moving. (I did let the cleaning staff know and they said they would notify management) Our only other minor “annoyance” was the get to get to and from the beach. It seemed unnecessary to have a code for beach access, especially when you have your wagon and hands full with beach stuff! The gate also took some getting used to, as there was no visual cues indicating that the code was accepted and so you kind of have to yank or shove the gate to see if it would open.

We stayed in 1505. The condo was spacious, clean, had beautiful views of the pond,pool and ocean and had a fully stocked kitchen. We cooked steaks on the grills by the adult pool which were very nice and large and clean Trager grills. We cooked many meals in the kitchen and we found everything we needed! While we were in Hilton Head, we took two day trips. One to Savannah, Georgia and one to Charleston, SC. We packed a lot into our trip! Carolyn Spicuzza was amazing host. She answered all of our questions immediately and provided all the information we needed in detail. One of our questions we always ask the family is -would you come back? We all said yes!!! Thank you Carolyn for making our family vacation a memorable one. It was hard to leave such a fun and beautiful place!!

Our visit was good. The room was quite clean and the amenities were very nice. The updated pool was pleasant, though the water was cold most days. Beach access was great, with plenty of spots to put our chairs. The only issue we ran into was the elevator only worked a couple of times out of the many that we tried it. Overall, it was a very good experience.
