Village West Resort & Hotel

We almost didn’t come due to the bad reviews, however, we loved it here! Yes the rooms are dated but the rooms are clean and spacious. They have every amenities you would want at a resort. The indoor pool and Hottub were perfect! Your own private beach. They have boats for rent at a reasonable price, a fabulous gift shop and a little restaurant in the lake. The area is fantastic and there’s so much to do, bands, cruises, shopping etc. recommend the Barefoot bar, Lisa’s Bake shop for the most amazing cinnamon rolls, Maxwells for fine dining (make reservations far in advance), Mullets, the Waterfront restaurant, so much more!

Only had wifi in the lobby, beds, appliances and furniture need updates very badly. The fireplace didn’t work and was a bat in the unit. ||The indoor pool and hot tub were a good size and the arcade was decent.

Absolute dump. Do not stay here. The 3-bedroom unit we rented was disgusting. 30-year old green carpeting. Stained pillows. Dirty dishes in cupboard. Crappy old beds with no support (could feel springs through sheets). Would have left at check in had we not been with a large group in several units. Can't say enough bad things about this place.

We got a Studio Suite through Armed Forces Vacation Club for $429/week ($61/night) compared to the regular rate of $1500/week ($214/night). I would never pay the regular rate as our room was very outdated and not properly cleaned (the decades-old carpet was abviously not vacuumed and the decades-old linoleum was obviously not swept and mopped). We enjoyed our stay as it was conveniently close to a family wedding but the rooms really need to be cosmetically updated... and properly cleaned.

I have been coming here since the 90's. It used to be a great place to vacation. Over the years it has just became worse and worse. They refuse to replace broken equipment. The diner is rarely open. The beds have been the same the entire time. Still no wifi in 2025. No activities anymore for kids or adults. Took away the movie theater. The mini golf was stripped away. Tons of broken arcade games. It saddens me to write this because it never used to be this way. It was so fun when I was younger but I guess all good things come to an end.
