Viking Bay Resort & Lodge on Lake Miltona

As a family, we were looking for a fun place to stay out of town for the weekend. Not your typical hotel. So we booked at this particular lodge/resort. We stayed for 2 nights. Here are a few things I wanted to report. 1.The road to get there is very dark and a little difficult to find for an out of towner. 2. Check in is at 4 PM and checkout is at 9am. Way too late to check in and way to early to check out. 3. Never communicated with owners except for the 2 mins it took to check in. Normally the hosts are friendly and around. Not here 4. It rained the whole time and the steps to get upstairs were incredibly slippery. AC sticks out so far that you need to pay attention so you don't walk into it. They had a random towl hook hanging in the bathroom and when I went to open the shower curtain I

Been visiting here on a regular basis for the past 40 years. The owners who took over a few years ago have done an excellent job upgrading both the cabins and resort in general. The swimming beach and boat/dock area are set up very nice with safety in mind as well. The grounds are very well maintained as well as the lodge/hotel. If you want the best vacation ever, visit Viking Bay Resort. Lake Milton also is known for the best walleye fishing in the Alexandria area and their is plenty to do and see in the surrounding communities as well.

Beautiful lake resort. We had a lodge room . Room was spacious jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was a nice addition. Beach area and boat lifts where nice. Property was well maintained and owners and guests very friendly. Highly recommend!

Probably one of the cleanest well maintained resorts I've ever been at. Normally guests don't see behind the scenes work that goes into taking care of a place like this, however Our stay overlapped a normal week stay time-frame. They work their butts off for you and it shows. The fish cleaning shack is neat and orderly and doesn't even smell! That's something I've never experienced at any resort!! Well done Viking Bay Resort and Lodge!!

We arrived unexpectedly and were met by Bill who accommodated myself and my family with a Loge room. The staff were really friendly (Minnesota nice) We had a fire at the community fire pit to ourselves (free wood) and my son played at the beach for hours. This resort is best visited with a boat in tow and a fishing rod in hand. The rooms are cozy and quiet with jacuzzi bath (that was super nice). The rooms are clean with all the nature you can track in you are asked to do the spot cleaning before you leave. I have no complaints! Thank you, Viking bay and Bill
