Vel Terra Campground

Gorgeous privately owned campsite situated in the moderately hilly fringes of the Driftless area. Appears to also be a working farm and in a dark-sky area. The campsites are decently spaced with adequate tree cover and fire pits (he sells wood to burn). Bathroom is clean with coin-operated showers (I think, I did not use the shower). The proprietor was helpful and personable who took the time to meet and greet us. He told us about a nice trail system he cut through his property that will take you to scenic views of the surrounding farmland. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Vel Terra was the highlight of our RV trip. We stayed there for 2 days during the week so there was only one other guest. The space for the RV had everything we needed besides full hookups, we had a picnic table and a fire pit. The grounds were quiet and beautiful. The owner, Jim, was accommodating and a great host. The trails are short but provide an enjoyable walk. If you are looking for a getaway that is relaxing, has beautiful foliage and grounds, go to Vel Terra.

Our stay at Vel Terra was absolutely delightful. We were warmly greeted and he even helped us back the trailer. Place is clean & very well maintained, so peaceful and quiet and the trails are a wonderful bonus. Not far from Galena and has great stops along the way. Highly recommend and will stay again if I'm the area.

This overall stay was beyond 5 stars. It’s private, quiet and so peaceful. Everything was so clean. The trails were amazing and had such scenic views. They had benches and picnic tables all around and throughout the trails so you could just stop and take it all in. I would 10/10 recommend this place.

First time at this camping property. All I can say is that this place is awesome. Arrived at 3:45pm, Jeff the owner met us at registration and escorted us to the site then helped backing the camper into the site. Beautiful and immaculately clean property, phenomenal personal service. Grassed camp sites and well positioned sites with sufficient privacy. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.
