Vanderpool Campground

I love the cool Summer weather here. The woman that runs the place reserved a great site for us. The flowers and fruit trees along the flowing river are beautifully kept. Our site has 50amp, plenty of space for our auto, and Clam tent. It’s well maintained grounds are rock or grass. It’s a joy to step out of our RV and enjoy the Appalachian Mountain Air with grass, rocks, concrete pad be with my feet (when it rains there are NO MUDDY Puddles :.)

Great little campground! The little creek and flowers everywhere are delightful! Plenty of room for each site with either a small deck or concrete pad. We have just spent two weeks here and found it convenient to all the places a tourist wants to visit. The owner is super nice and helpful.

We used this campground as a basic place to park while visiting and sightseeing in the area. Unfortunately, it is not overly well maintained and has permanents, primarily, with a few transient spaces. However, we had a comfortable site -- a long, level, shaded, pull-thru with a wooden deck and we found the campground to be a quiet and tranquil place to stay. The sites are staggered and are gravel, as are the roads. The owner is friendly and helpful but appears to be a "hoarder" as is obvious when you enter the office. There are no amenities here and no cable but the Wi-Fi was excellent -- the best we've ever had at any campground!

We have a 42' motorhome and this is the best set up for big rigs in the Boone area.||Located right off 421N a few miles north of Boone. Easy in and sites are fairly level. Nice countryside setting with cow pastures across the road. Partially shaded sites allow for satellite reception. Park WIFI works great. We are fully self contained so haven't used bathhouse but should be nice based on grounds/landscape maintenance.||Sites are gravel base but all grass around, small patio on some sites. Great area for dogs to walk on leash. We would stay here again.

Daily rate is too high; $38. Weekly rate $225. But best is monthly at $400 plus electricity. Shady spots, just off of Hwy 421 but traffic noise is not bad. Better monthly rates than all he others. Basic but good electricity, water, sewer on site. WiFi is good but not great. Facilities need an upgrade with road work, deck rebuilds, picnic table replacement. Could be a great park with some attention. Open year round as only park doing this in the area.
