Valley Motel

I found this place out of desperation late at night when I realized I was still a long way from Wheeling. It's on the old US 40 alignment, and the loss of traffic has hurt it. I think I was the only car. The rooms are pretty small, and my matress was just about collapsed. The heat was very much appreciated, and I spent a quiet night. The bathroom was small but clean. For the price, I really can't complain. It looks like they have a little picnic area and fishing creek out back, but February is not the time to check that out.

So... We took an unexpected trip in July at the last minute. Had to find a place to crash for the night to get some sleep. This guy was the only one in the area with a vacancy. Comfortable beds. Well rested in the morning. Not 100% clean but I believe the guy is doing the best he can. Mom pop business so not all the fancy amenities that the big chain corporations have. But this place has respectful and polite owners.

This has to have been the worst hotel I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The rooms were nasty, disgusting, and smelled. It was so bad we had to leave and couldn’t even stay there. Wish that we would’ve seen a honest review before checking in. When we were leaving the owner actually came into the room while we were still in it and interrogated us about what was wrong with the room. It made us extremely uncomfortable as we just wanted to get the heck out of there and were trying to be polite about the situation.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have no clue who would’ve written a positive review but please do yourself a favor and do not stay here. It had to have been the most disgusting motel I’ve ever seen. It was actually so bad we had to leave. I don’t even have the words to describe how bad it was....just nasty.

Nice and quite mom and pop kind of place. off the main road kind of place. Pleasant people that run the place. Safe place, and rates are right. Not the Hilton, but nice place.
