Valley Ford Hotel

So, we have been to the Rocker's restaurant before and loved it. And we usually stay in Occidental when in the area, but wanted to try the VFH. We love quaint and older hotels, but there are a few easy things they could do to make this place way better! We stayed in room 7 towards the back. Issues we experienced: The barn door for the bathroom does not stay closed; we literally had to use a shoe to hold it closed. The nightstand next to the bed is coming apart and I almost spilled my drink a few times when setting it down. There is no TV (we usually don't need one) but there is definitely wall space to accommodate a TV. And last, the bed was not comfy and was only a queen. Valley Ford is a tiny town (population ~200) so a great getaway. This hotel has I believe 6 rooms and is on top of an excellent bar/restaurant. the rooms are clean and quaint and the bed we got was super comfortable. some things to be aware of: you pick up your keys from an envelope near the door, there's no one to greet you. the walls are thin and we could hear people talking in the room next to ours. the restaurant/bar downstairs can be quite rowdy and noisy but they kick ppl out by 10pm TL;DR this is not for everyone especially if you expect a full service hotel but for us it was an excellent destination to spend a few days disconnected.

Really cool place to stay! Rooms are cozy and quiet. Very comfortable bed and linens. Will definitely stay again! Valley Ford is a teeny sweet spot in beautiful West Marin and the Valley Ford Hotel is a great spot for a quick getaway. The restaurant and bar are excellent.

There is no better spot to stay in the Bodega Bay Area. Comfortable beds and quiet evenings, fine food and incredible wine, all nestled in to a romantic nature wonderland! The Valley Ford Hotel came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. We were so close to everything we could need to have a perfect wine country experience. The owners deserve a big fat kiss on the lips and a five star review. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Don’t miss the Rockers!

Rooms - Clean Water - does get very hot water pressure needs improved. The kind of pressure that leaves you taking longer because you don’t feel like you are rinsed off completely Location - is right besides hwy and you feel like from the noise you are outside. Weekends - you will hear loud music and every conversation going on down stairs clearly The name seems like you will check in a Hotel definitely you will not, you will never see any staff its self check in, unlike a Hotel. Bathroom privacy is zero as you can see from pictures
