Customer Reviews
We had high hopes for our stay at United Campground, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations, leading us to leave a day early. I have great memories of staying here as a kid with my family over 20 years ago. This campground doesn’t seem well-suited for families any more. There are many rules which made it feel more restrictive than we’d hoped for a camping experience. The grass area by the train is mostly weeds. The rock driveways make it hard for kids to enjoy bikes. And the front desk staff seemed overwhelmed and wasn’t as welcoming as we expected, and the check-in process felt outdated, relying entirely on handwritten paperwork without modern computer systems. The facilities were a challenge: the showers were not as clean as one would expect (see photos). The bathroom acce
If you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience for daring to ask for basic courtesy, this is your spot. Bathrooms? Think gas station level hygiene at premium price. I camped here between Aug 9 – 11, 2025, and despite calling ahead (paid my deposit, requested a shaded site near the women’s restroom since I was camping solo), they stuck me in site # 19 the one site roasting in full sun. The place was practically empty, yet when I politely asked to be moved to a shaded site, the staff member rolled her eyes and snapped, ‘you know the sun moves, don’t you?’ As if I needed a science lesson instead of shade. She finally shuffled me to another site but not without making it clear I was the biggest pain in her behind and was asking far too much. Rude, hostile, and flat-out unprofessional. If you
This has been one of my favorite RV parks so far. Great atmosphere. The bathrooms were super up to date and clean. The campsites were even better. They're shaded and have full hookups plus ones with only electric and water if you wanted. Someone came everyday to make sure dust was down on the little roads by putting water on them. The pool was so clean. The pool could have been a tad warmer, but it was a cooler day and we just wanted to get in the pool before we left. They have a trolley stop right outside the park, which was great because we had to put our car in the shop. The employees were so kind! They had a tiny store, but it was chalk full of things that we wanted, like ice cream. Laundry room was beautiful. Laundry detergent machines in there and everything you needed. There was one
A little pricey for tent camping. No water or electric at tent sites. The website does not allow you to book site online and must call in and make reservations. Booked for three nights, three people with limitations of tent sizes and number of people. There was more than enough space for more tent camping available so not sure why all the restrictions especially given the daily rate. If revisiting Durango will probably seek another location. They did have clean restrooms and shower facilities. The pool was well taken care of. Dust was maintained by daily wetdown. Cool to see the trains come through camp. People were pleasant overall. Just not fully satisfied it overall.
TENT camping was fantastic. Grounds are very well maintained. Showers and laundry were the best of our trip. The 4 or so antique narrow gauge trains that come through during the day were so cool to see. The kids really enjoyed our stay. Would camp here again.
