Tuxedo Motel

Hiker friendly. Great price. Clean, tidy motel. Laundry was done in their professional washers/dryers in two hours. Ate pizza delivered from local restaurant. Chinese food also available.

We just checked out from our latest stay at Tuxedo Motel, where we have stayed at least three times per year for the last decade or so, typically for long weekends enjoying the Renaissance Fair, Woodbury Commons, and hiking. The property is peaceful/tranquil, situated on top of a hill, with nice grounds. The rooms are well-kept, clean and comfortable. The motel is bargain priced, even with a small price hike after many years having the same rates (hello inflation).

The owner is very hiker friendly! We were section hiking the AT and needed to stop somewhere for the night. Called the day of and he had a room available for us. Had to catch an Uber to the motel as it is a few miles from the trail. Make sure to get dropped off at the top of the driveway where you’ll see the front office, otherwise you’ll have to walk a ways uphill. Room was fairly priced, clean, and stocked with everything we needed (showers were HOT). Owner took care of our laundry for us and showed us the beautiful gazebo and nice area of picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and a grill. We were very thankful to stay here for a night after a brutal section on the AT. We ended up eating our own food but it looks like you can have pizza and Chinese food delivered.

Extremely Concerning Experience During my stay, the motel manager entered our room while we were away, without permission or prior notice. This was alarming and completely unacceptable. Additionally, if you require medical assistance, do not rely on the motel staff for help. In our experience, they were unresponsive and unhelpful in a situation where support was urgently needed. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before booking here.

The owners heart has been hardened. Once upon a time he was kind and funny. Not sure what happened. I tried booking a room here for my wife and I 3 times and it was full every time. I also attempted to drop of business cards and he told me I can throw them right in the trash. What a big freakin' baby, you need to pray from wisdom and read the Bible before you 🔥
