Campsite #9 is at the dead end of Spectacle Gap Rd on the highest part of the ridge. The road at the top loops around and seems as though this area may have been at one time a fire tower as steps and concrete footers are visible. It is quiet, shaded but some sun will get through during the day. It is a solid 20 miles from Mifflin/Mifflintown to Campsite #9 so you are out there, so do not kid yourself...take precautions and be prepared. The only drawback is that other people travelling through the forest may ignore that there is a Campsite at the top of Spectacle Gap Road and drive right on in where they have zero reservation. This happen twice, afterwards I put my car where the loop begins forcing anyone else to do what they were already going to do and that is turn around.
