Turner Falls is in between Dfw and OKC. Its a one day drive in and out with alot of things to do. They have rentals, private baths, picnic area, zipline, cabins. The fees vary depending on when you go. Summers are higher upto $25 and winter is about $9 adults. Kids are different and under 5 is free. The nice thing is there is Police all the time patrolling. Loved to explore Castles where you have to climb stone stairs. It was historical feeling. Pool was closed when we were there in Fall but they have tubes and all swimming activities in summer. It was still a great experience to visit in Winter and have adventure with fall trees.
We stayed in a bunkhouse. Nice. Mattresses are firm, so if you aren't used to that, bring a pad. No hot water in the shower or sink. I always travel with 91% alcohol in a spray bottle and it came in handy to kill wasps. Grill and fire pit right there. A/C worked great!
The best day ever! Clean, peaceful environment. Kind and respectful employees. Even fellow campers were respectful and kind. New cabins, restrooms, and renovations taking place. We camped old school with a tent on the third level, which does need more attention. Loved being next to nature. Got to watch the deer and loved seeing the twin fawns. Love the new cabins on level 2.
For $50 a night at least put a bathhouse on level 3 for campers, we paid too! Primitive camping is first come first served, and some have fire rings and picnic table. Trash in trash out. Unmarked trails too so be careful at level 3. For $50 I'd prefer a state park or their cabins. Price too high. Only stayed 1 night. April best time to come. Quiet, not packed! Bring wood for fire 🔥
We stayed one night in a teepee rental at Turner Falls Park, and while the place itself is beautiful, the check-in experience really ruined the start of our trip. When we arrived, we were helped by Laura. We had reserved two teepees that were supposed to be next to each other, but somehow they were booked on separate campsites. When we asked her to fix it, she was rude and dismissive the entire time. She kept making snarky comments and acted like we were inconveniencing her by asking for help. While she called her “boss,” she had us standing out in the sun at around 4 p.m. for over 15 minutes. When I asked if she could be a little more accommodating or at least nicer about it, she just pointed over her shoulder to the car check-in booth and basically told us if we were “getting too hot,”
