Great free campground in Kentucky along the Sheltowee Trace Trail. Enjoyed the large site, fire ring, hang poles, and picnic tables. Pit toilets were good, had TP! Heard owls all night and had a nice campfire. Only complaint, like many others have said, are some of the other campers. People are definitely living there (two little girls told us so!) and a lot of traffic after 8pm, like the same car in and out, over and over again. Then, the ATV people were driving through there like its a playground. Hopefully, the FS can get a ranger in there nightly to check on things. It's a beautiful spot int the forest and a lovely place to camp.

We love this place with my family. Always quiet, beautiful place with gorgeous Kentucky forest. I wish there was more like this place national wide.

I didn’t stay at the campground, just hiked the trail. It was breathtaking. Once I found the trailhead it was relatively easy to stay on the trail. Except, it was clear they hadn’t had a trail crew out there in awhile. Lots of huge trees that you couldn’t go over, you had to go around. That wouldn’t have been a problem, except stepping off trail was very unsafe at times. I fell several times and twisted my knee and ankle. By the end of it the pain and annoyance definitely overshadowed the relaxation and beauty of the place.

Beautiful camp ground, sites are secluded, and spaced far enough away from each other for plenty of privacy. Very quiet and peaceful during the day. No electricity or water, but we knew that before going. My only complaint is that we never saw a park ranger or anyone patrol the grounds the entire time that we were there, and there is alot of suspicious activity after dark. There is absolutely no traffic through the campground during the day, but it turns into a very busy place at night with the same people coming in and out every night multiple times a night at all hours. It seems that they were running a "business" there if you know what I mean. Which was a little scary to be around.

This campground was excellent. Set on the western side of the blue ridge mountains overlooking a great creek supplied by along the side. It is not rv friendly. However, I got in and out ok with my 27-foot Imagine. Had go divert the super tight left leaving by going up the mountain foe a mile to an easy turn around. Turkey season packs this camp.
