Trumbull Marriott Shelton

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Trumbull Shelton Hotel, and I can honestly say this is one of the friendliest Marriott properties I’ve ever visited. From the moment you arrive, the professionalism of the team is immediately evident. The staff simply cannot do enough for their guests. A special mention must go to the concierge lounge, breakfast & the bar team, who are absolutely fabulous. The service each morning is warm, attentive, and delivered with genuine care. It sets the tone perfectly for the day. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, making it ideal for visiting the surrounding areas of Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Stratford. As my kids would say, it was “mid.” Unfortunately the hotel is getting a little dated (carpet in the hallways is a little frayed, furniture in the rooms is a little tired) and the bathroom in our room was a bit dirty (a hair in the corner, etc). I can tell this was once a large, upscale hotel. Thankfully this was reflected in the price and our room was quite reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was basic for the price of $15.95/pp (real scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage, toaster waffles and fruit). The staff is lovely. Seriously, they could not be nicer and this hotel is huge and was fully booked when we were there so they were very busy. I would definitely stay there again as long as the price was right.

Positive: The location Negative: The beds were super small . It has to be for 1 adult or 2 children to sleep. Since it was 3 of us 2 had to squeeze in 1 bed. It was very uncomfortable. For the price they charged I don?t think it?s worth it. That is the main reason I rate them as low

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Trumbull Marriott Shelton, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience especially the incredible front desk staff. Yolanda was truly the nicest person ever and completely made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with such warmth and genuine kindness that it instantly felt like we were being welcomed by family rather than checking into a hotel. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, hooking us up with accommodations and thoughtful touches that made us feel so taken care of. Her positive attitude, professionalism, and heartfelt hospitality made a huge difference and turned a great stay into an amazing one. Because of Yolanda, this Marriott stands out in the best possible way. C

I stayed here for three nights during a work trip to Connecticut. Overall, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made for a welcoming experience. The hotel is within walking distance of several stores, so getting around was easy and convenient. That said, there were a few issues worth noting. Housekeeping was a bit too casual with security protocols. I returned to my room while they were inside, and they allowed me to walk in without confirming I was the actual guest. The door was already open, and while I appreciate their friendliness, it raised concerns because someone else could have easily walked in. There were elevator issues during my stay.
