Exactly What You Need in the Permian Basin Stayed at the Tru by Hilton in Midland and was genuinely impressed from check-in to check-out. A special shoutout to Robin and Ro, who greeted me with a smile every single time. The kind of warmth they bring makes a real difference and is exactly what hospitality is all about. The room was clean, modern, and well-designed, everything felt fresh and the bed was incredibly comfortable after a long day. The lobby has a great open vibe with plenty of space to work or unwind, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus to start the morning right. The location is convenient whether you're in town for business or just passing through. For a city that moves as fast as Midland, it's refreshing to find a hotel that keeps pace. This was our first time staying at a "Tru" hotel and we liked it overall, but there were several things that set off my "germ-a-phobe" radar!|The beds and pillows were nice and comfortable which is a very big deal if you're looking for a good night's rest. |Everything functioned correctly in the room (lights, tv, AC, etc) and we were pleased with the room for the most part. |There was a fridge but no microwave which was a bit odd, but not a deal breaker.|There wasn't a true closet area and no dresser or drawers for storage, but again, not a deal breaker.|The staff was very friendly and accommodating for the most part. |The gym area was fully functional.|Now for the dirty germy problems. The front desk employees are very friendly and easy check in. I was told breakfast starts at 6:30 by the front desk and that was incorrect information. Breakfast starts at 6:00 a.m. Breakfast is ok and basic. Scrambled and hard boiled eggs and sausage links were available. I would suggest offering a Greek yogurt as an option. I stayed in room 207 for two nights Elevators were fast and always working. I will not stay on this room again as it needs a new mattress. A huge dip on one side due to there only having one night stand so people favor one side. The alarm doesn't display correctly so I couldn't check if an alarm was set. Of course the alarm clock was set for 5:45 am from someone else and I didn't know that this so I had an early wake up for no reason. AC unit fan does not have an off

I had a very upsetting experience at this hotel and would not recommend staying here if you value safety and professionalism. When I arrived, my room key did not work. I went up to the 4th floor twice and had to return to the front desk a third time before the receptionist said she would go check it herself. While she was away, another guest and her boyfriend began verbally harassing me in the lobby. This happened in front of my children, who were frightened and in my car while the situation escalated. When the receptionist returned, I immediately told her I did not feel safe and asked to cancel the room. Positive: The people that work there are 10/10 employees! They were very kind and personable. They made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was good. Negative: Our toilet didn?t flush. Changed rooms the next day since nobody to fix it (New Year's). Hotel is good but due for maintenance. One lobby restroom out of order, light strip in the bathroom out, pancake maker broke still. Regular maintenance issues.
