Travis FamCamp Office

I'm disappointed in this famcamp. They say you get what you pay for. We couldn't get our 43' fifth wheel very far back due to tree limbs that need trimming which didn't allow for our truck to fit on the gravel spot provided. They have all kinds of rules about not putting things on the grass due to mowing and sprinklers.....well no need to worry about that cause there is no grass and no sprinklers that we could see. Talked to the office about the tree branches and she said there is a contractor that dies those but they haven't been doing it and they are currently looking for a new contractor. The AF needs to do better at this Famcamp. I don't believe the rules are enforced. Price and location are good but very outdated.

Nice Commissary and BX. This FamCamp is located just inside the main gate and had laundry available. We were in the generic section with very little shade or green grass. There was another section that I think was longer term with bushes and trees. We were right next to the ball fields where the active duty did their morning group PT. Of course it's windy here all the time - no surprise since that's why this airfield even exists. One odd thing I've never seen - the electric boxes are actually pad-locked and you have to call a phone number to get the code to unlock it and then "immediately" return the lock to the front office. Visit Napa for wine tasting - but now it's become expensive with most places at $55 to $150 per person and they want reservations. Don't forget to get a tour

Worst fam camp I've stayed at. We have been traveling the US and have stayed at many military fam camps. This one is not mowed. Rules are not followed. It's more of a trailer park with permanent campers and a nasty trailer. E6 military members are paid $3k a month BHA are taking advantage of tax payers by renting spots long term and living here. Lots of dogs in fences. Cats roaming freely. Dog park has tree cutting piles up and overgrown.

Very grateful to have access to Travis FamCamp. I was worried plane noise or gate road noise would make day sleeping hard, honestly, haven't heard much with just basic white noise on in my RV. Have loved access to Library, BX, base dog park, commissary and cheaper gas! After 4 years of RV lofe, this has been the safest I've felt in my RV😁

We are very happy with this FamCamp. It's conveniently located (walking distance to the School, BX, Class Six, Commissary, Starbucks, Burger King, and Parks). There are lots of trees and the place is clean. Every RV site has a concrete pad. They stay on residents to clean up after pets. It's quiet (with the exception of gate traffic and planes taking off sporadically). I have no complaints. They upped the rate to $22 per night, but still a steal considering it includes water, electric, and free cable. Washers & Dryers available (3 of each). There are also clean community showers & restrooms. They also have a water station to refill 5 gallon jugs of filtered water. Wish we could stay longer than 90 days at a time!
