Travel Inn Motel Oakes

I travel for a living and stay at a lot of hotels in small towns.|The room was bearable and not filthy. Pillows are horrible. Dresser was missing the front of one of the drawers. Towel bar was pulling out of the wall. Toilet seat was cracked.|In the 5 days I was there housekeeping never entered my room.|The entry areas to the hotel were absolutely disgusting. Door mats look like they have needed replaced for years.|Hallways and stairs were literally caked with gross stuff and were not vacuumed at all during my stay. |I’ve stayed at the Harvest Inn hotel in Oakes and it is much, much, nicer. Unfortunately they were sold out of rooms.|Although Harvest Inn is about twice the price, I would stay there if rooms are available.|

We originally booked a motel in Lamoure for the Toy Show, but they double booked so we got this room in this Travel Inn for basically half the price. The room was very clean, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The town is also a nice looking little town with a lot of small businesses within walking distance. The manager at the front was very friendly and inviting. We will probably stay here even without a discount the next time we’re in the area. The TVs were also newer than the pictures shown. It had a nice mini fridge and a microwave. There wasn’t much for a breakfast, but we ate at Donna’s Diner which was a very good eating experience with good atmosphere.

We stopped in on our Big 2019 Road Trip. Almost all the rooms are either up or down at least half a flight of stairs, which would have been a problem for my wife's knees. But they did have one two-bed ground-floor room off the lobby, which we took. That room is a bit oddly laid out, with a long hallway and no desk, but the bathroom was nice and spacious. The motel exterior is a bit "rough", but the rooms are clean and tidy. Dennis at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and there's ample free ice. Walking distance to many restaurants downtown. A good stay.

Great place to stay. My room was spotless clean ... and the bathroom had REAL towels and not the cheap, rough towels you find in a lot of smaller motels. Dennis at the front desk was fantastic and provided great customer service. The price was good, the bed was comfortable and the service was awesome. I will definitely stay at the Travel Inn again!

The room was clean enough, but the noise from loud music and partying until the wee hours of the morning which appeared to be all from the family running the motel was ridiculous. A call to the front desk simply brought louder music and whoops and hollers from the party goers. Avoid this motel at all costs. We will be contesting the credit card transaction for our stay here.
