Timber Ridge Resort

Long overdue for a remodel and each room should have a coffeepot/coffee not just select rooms. If it were remodeled I'd give it a fifth star. Bathroom floor is stained. The owners were very kind and it was fairly clean but even the bedding seemed from the 80's. The pool was nice, the lake is beautiful, the alpacas are adorable.

We found Mark Twain Lake 20 years ago. A hidden boating/fishing gem in the Midwest. Finding Timber Ridge Resort made this our family boating destination as often as possible each summer, for the last 18 years. I am writing this review as we travel the 3 hours home to Cedar Rapids IA. from our most recent 3 day stay. Each visit we arrive we receive a welcoming, clean and very comfortable accommodation. We have stayed in the hotel rooms, cabins, Loft and our favorite, Cabin #25 and all have been exactly what we expect, clean, comfortable and often with new upgrades. The resort is owned by a lovely family that has given this remote resort TLC and their hard work and pride in providing excellent vacations that send their guests away with life long memories. Jody (sp?) and Dennis are over-the-top friendly and hospitable, but run a tight ship, as needed, which makes for a pleasant stay each time. I’ve been staying here for so many years I’ve lost track - at least a decade or 2. They are friendly, caring, responsive owners that always provide clean rooms at a great price and care about keeping their guests satisfied to the best of their ability. Although I’ve only stayed there to fish the lake, I see it’s a family-friendly place (lots of families here in warm months, but never annoying). For the price, I’ve never slept on a more comfortable mattress.

Timber Ridge Resort is a great value for lodging and family fun. It is very neat, clean and well maintained and has activities for kids and the whole family to enjoy. Our room and the pool were both very clean. The owners and staff are very friendly and great to visit with. The wooded areas on the property are very pretty, with birds, squirrels and rabbits to enjoy. They even have two llamas and a game room for kids and adults to enjoy. For fishermen they have a nice fish cleaning facility.

I have written many reviews from my travels but didn't realize this little place was even on trip advisor- LOL. Anyway, we just returned from another trip to Timber Ridge. Don't be fooled by 4 and 5 star ratings. While this is exactly the kind of place we love for a step up from camping ... this is not a luxury resort by any stretch. We love this place to kick back, relax, swim, and have fun on our boat. We are saddened that Jodi and Dennis have decided to sell the business. They do an excellent job maintaining and operating this resort! Everything is spotless and they are always working at something. They have wifi but it is spotty and best outdoors. The pool is nice and always clean. The rooms are basic, kitchens basic, think second hand and dollar store items. BUT- we love
