Timber Bay Lodge & Houseboats

We had such a wonderful quick weekend getaway here with our dogs! The property is absolutely beautiful and such a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The sauna was an amazing bonus and the perfect way to end the day. Drew and Janet were incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to come back and see it in the summer - we might even try out a houseboat for our Honeymoon!!🌲✨

This was our first trip to the Babbitt/Ely area and a longtime family friend recommended this resort having brought her family for many years during the MEA break. We stayed in Cabin 4 with 5 adults and 2 small children. Also 2 hunting dogs. It was very clean and lots of nice touches. A complimentary bottle of blueberry wine. Janet and Drew are the new owners. Excellent communication and very welcoming. Our grands enjoyed the game/craft room, the bikes and the playground area so near our cabin. It was gorgeous weather and no end to nature’s fall color. Visited the Wolf center too. We hope to go again and will look at renting one of the larger winterized cabins just for kitchen space and bathrooms.

Just spent a week at Timber Bay with family members. We rented 3 cabins and a pontoon boat. It was beautiful and a great place to relax for a week. Quiet, well kept grounds and cabins. There are so many things to do for all ages. The owners are so friendly and helpful. A great place to stay. Hope to go back again.

A Perfect Getaway at Timber Bay on Birch Lake We just returned from our first stay at Timber Bay, and it's easy to see why guests return year after year. We spent our days unwinding and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Cabin 4 was cozy comfortable and had a nice view of the lake. A big thank you to Janet, Drew, and their team for their hospitality. Their dedication to Timber Bay made the experience even more special. Whether cruising on the houseboat, speeding around on the speedboat, or hiking on the nearby islands, we had an amazing time. The Trading Post’s game room is a great backup if weather’s not cooperative. Already counting down to our next visit! Thank you for creating such a magical place!

My family of 5 stayed in Cabin #9 at Timber Bay Resort over MEA weekend & it was a dream. I cannot imagine a better place for a secluded woodsy retreat. With a grocery story less than 10 mins away & a full kitchen I never felt like I was "roughing it" but my kids LOVED the lakeside sandy beach, fishing off multiple docks & the rec room stocked with puzzles/board games, pool table & fuse ball. The owners are excellent hosts & provided bikes for my kids to ride. The hiking is unlike anything we've done as a family & was so accessible, just a short walk from our cabin door to the trailhead & options to go for miles. We left feeling recharged & filled up on the beauty of nature, hoping to return to stay in other seasons as I can imagine the grounds turn into a winter wonderland & a breathtakin
