The Whittaker Inn

The Whittaker Inn is my new favorite hotel. Anybody who spends weeks on the road in a blur of hotels that all look and feel the same will understand the delight of walking into a place that feels like visiting the home of a friend. Every touch communicates friendliness, from an informal check-in at the front door instead of at a desk, a living room perfect for a chat with colleagues or a snug moment with a book, cookies everywhere, charming decor and delicious breakfast. I’m going to try to gin up more reasons to visit West Lafayette so I can stay at The Whittaker Inn more often!

From the moment our group arrived, the staff set the tone with their warmth, professionalism, and genuine attentiveness. Every detail—large and small—was anticipated and handled flawlessly. The Whittaker Inn is really just perfection! Their warm atmosphere, attention to detail, personal welcome upon arrival, and beautiful rooms head the list. The always available night kitchen and fabulous cooked to order breakfast never disappoint. Get the warm bread pudding on breakfast menu... so worth the calories!!! |We have stayed at the Whittaker Inn multiple times and it consistently exceeds our expectations. If you can, also eat dinner at their small boutique restaurant The Whittaker Kitchen. If I could give more stars, I would! The Whittaker is a home away from home in the best possible way. Every detail has been thoughtfully executed to make you feel special every time you visit. The service is fantastic. I love the option to take breakfast in the dining room or have it brought to you. Every menu item is delicious. The common areas are comfortable and perfect for having a relaxed evening meeting with work colleagues or a glass of wine with friends. I love to stay here whenever I come for work, it makes the trip a pleasant experience every time.

This was our fifth year celebrating New Years with friends at the Whittaker. Elizabeth and Andrew are the most gracious hosts. The inn is beautifully furnished, close to the Purdue campus, and rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. There is ample space in public area for visiting with other guests and they provide snacks and beverages for us while we visit. There is a billiard room and a wonderful assortment of board games and puzzles for extra entertainment. The meals by chef Andrew are amazing. Breakfasts are made to order, and we highly recommend trying a gourmet dinner at least once when you stay, there are excellent selections, and they are very accomodating for special diets.
