The Tiskilwa Inn is a jewel of a bed-and-breakfast, tucked away in the small town of Tiskilwa, IL. The Inn is an elegantly restored 1848 home, offering five|unique guest rooms, each with a private bath. We felt like we had stepped back in time, with beautiful furnishings and antiques. Our room was The Garden Room, with a fireplace and luxurious bath/walk-in shower, and queen bed. There's a coffee/juice bar for early risers. The breakfast was so good, with bread pudding, scrambled eggs and sausages. There's a hot tub, which we didn't use, and the basement has a pool table, wine cellar, foosball, darts, and exercise room. We were in Tiskilwa for a wedding and The Tiskilwa Inn was the perfect place to stay.
I cannot write a bad thing about my time at The Tiskilwa Inn. Jeremy and his little furry assistant were so generous with their service and with the quality of the accommodations. Breakfasts were delicious, the coffee bar and drink fridge were extremely helpful after long days outside at Homestead in Princeton. While my tub stopper did not quite work as intended, Jeremy did some jury-rigging to it and we found a way to make it work for a relaxing bath one of the nights I was there. The Alpaca room is adorable and comfortable. Definitely will be back!!
We were so disappointed at our stay at the Inn. The former innkeeper - Jeremy is no longer there and it shows. The Inn itself is beautiful and room was nice but many things were lacking. The bed linens were dirty, our breakfast was burnt waffle, sausage and dry eggs — no fresh fruit as shown in website. We wanted to sit out in patio area off the kitchen and the chaise lounge cushion was dirty with bird droppings. The gardens are a mess — overgrown and weeds so couldn’t enjoy the garden gazebo either. We never had a glass of wine that was advertised and no daily housekeeping as our garbage can in bathroom never emptied the 3 days we were there. I emailed the owner and told him of these issues as felt the website was misleading. I want to warn patrons of Trip Advisor of these issues before
What a gem! This b&b is very charming and has been lovingly restored to highlight some of its original beauty. Jeremy was an excellent host, who was friendly and welcoming and who helped us out with some tools when our bicycles got a flat tire. Breakfast was delicious. And the bathroom in the Zen room is palatial and amazing! Will be back!
My wife and I had a great weekend visit. Breakfast both days was outstanding and the visit to the Alpaca Farm was great fun. Of course, it being beautiful fall weather didn't hurt. Princeton was a just a few minutes drive for a nice Mexican dinner and downtown shopping and walking. Also, a little local theater added some relaxing entertainment. All in all, time well spent and we'll be going back soon. The rooms were great too.
