The Stable Inn

My husband and I spent two nights here and were so impressed with the Inn. It's a great combination of options for travelers with some rooms having private baths or for a lower price a room with a shared bath. We opted for the private bath but looked around the Inn and were so impressed with how clean every area was from the living areas to the kitchens to the shared bathrooms all were spotless and very updated. We arrived after check in hours and were given simple, clear instructions on how to access our room with no issue. The owners are very lovely people who really put a lot of thought and care into the design of the Inn and they have a lot of knowledge of the area and information on the trails and things to do. We couldn't have been more pleased. Beds were very comfortable as well.

I want to rate this higher overall, but the lack of privacy is a major issue. I stayed with my husband, and our room was clean and we loved the accommodations, but we could hear everything people were saying in the common areas as though they were in our room. We could even hear someone's cellphone go off and hear her talking inside her room even with both our door and her door shut. Regardless of price point, I shouldn't have to whisper to have privacy. Also, the doors are unbelievably loud. The rooms are affordable, and it's a beautiful place to stay in a convenient location to many really incredible hikes. At the moment, your neighbors make or break your experience here. I sincerely wish I could rate this 5 stars.

+: 1. Place is very clean, from common areas to your room. 2. In a neiborhood that is quite and peaceful, beautiful for a morning walk, location is convenient too for people on road trips. -: 1. Noise. From the lacking soundproof between the rooms to the alarming sound of the room doors' electronic lock as well as the physical sound of the door closing etc. 2. The kitchen has all the necessities for you to maka a full meal yourself but no microwave.

I booked a hotel room over a month in advance to see the fall foliage and was really looking forward to staying here on a Saturday. Then on Thursday afternoon I got an email, not even a phone call saying my room was canceled. I called them and they said the room I reserved and paid for already was double booked and they are giving me a refund. I said there aren’t any hotels in the area this short of notice during peak fall season but they didn’t care and said sorry we can only give you a refund. I think that’s completely unacceptable, there are no other hotels available and now I have to cancel my birthday trip that I been looking forward to and planned for over a month. I had an entire itinerary and photos planned for the weekend to see the fall foliage that is now canceled. Not happy and

Anni and Doon have a great place here. They are wonderful hosts and I really enjoyed my 3 night stay. The common kitchens came in handy and I had no issues with other guests during my stay. My room (#8) was tiny, but I had no need for anything bigger. It made for a great "base camp" for my hikes on the LT. I would definitely stay here again!
