The Sandman Motel

What a disappointment. So much potential with this tiny motel. The carpet , bedding , sheets and furniture were all terrible ! My fault paid before I checked . But here are the issues . Mattress made us roll to the middle of the bed because it is so old . Bedding and sheets pillows were terrible and sheets stained . Chairs in room were so dirty stained ! And the room had a terrible smell of sewer . We went to Walmart and bought sheets, pillows and a blanket to even be able to sleep . Plus air freshener! The only way I knew I was on the River is if I crawled under the SINK to look out the half window that is under there! So much potential and with a little money for flooring ( new LVP flooring ) new mattress and sheets and bedding PLUS some pictures of WV or Hinton not the dollar store fak

5.0 star rating I give them 5 stars because we go there every year for train day and this is our go to place . We have stayed in other places in Hinton but we go back to the sandman because we like the location and the rooms are clean .My parents are from this adorable little town and we love it . The staff is very nice and always willing to accommodate. This place is easily accessible to the area in which we enjoy. The views are stunning and to have the Dairy Queen next door with the best Chile dogs ever is just a bonus. I would say if your looking for a nice place this Is it. Don't forget to stop at Kirks for breakfast. #citygirl #almostHeaven #trainday

I've got to say I was very surprised with the room. I'm not used to the cleanliness, hygiene single use items the amount in both bathroom an vanity. The amount of cups both in living bedroom area an vanity. Microwave and refrigerator, Flat screen TV comfortabl chairs, Clean Sheets what feels like a New Mattress, Working Heater an Air Conditioner, also a very nice veiw of the river in a window under the vanity that opens. So if you dont want to go outside an look at the river you can on Laying on the floor. Plus the Dairy Queen next to it a great old traditional DQ by staying at the Sandman you get a card that allows you a free drink.

This is a great little motel. Very, and I mean very clean, and all of the staff has been wonderful. If you are ever in the area and need a place to stay....this is well worth considering!!

Check in is at the DQ next door but very friendly staff. Immaculately clean which was surprising and accommodated me walking on off the street at 8pm. Can't fault cost about 65 bucks.
