We stayed here one evening to quickly look over the area for un upcoming wedding. Easy walk to downtown. Right on a small river, beautiful scenery. Food was excellent, we got trout and walleye. The bar selection can not be beat, this is a little gem in Northern MI.

Came here with my husband for our anniversary dinner which we noted on our reservation. We live locally and are here all year round. We've always enjoyed riverside inn. ||We walked in excited for our reservation - the host was dismissive of us and unwelcoming. I might have just thought that's how he is except a couple walked in behind us and he greeted them extremely enthusiastically and excitedly. He clearly was familiar with them. He then told the young lady next to him to seat us while he seated his friends. That first interaction set the tone for our evening. ||The waitress was friendly but the food was not great. The fried calamari was more deep fried breading than squid and was extremely salty. The steak was tough but the chimichurri sauce was delicious. The pasta, bland. The potato

We had a delightful stay at the Riverside Inn. The entire Inn and restaurant are clean and well kept for a 100+ year old property. Rooms are rustic but nicely decorated and comfortable. Coleen was wonderful to work with and went out of her way to meet our needs or requests. Dinner in the restaurant was expensive but the food, drinks and service were all excellent. We look forward to a future stay during the summer or fall so we can better enjoy the riverside views and short walk to downtown Leland and Fish Town. Our only recommendation would be to add a better continental breakfast and coffee station for guests.

During a spontaneous solo birthday trip, another northern Michigan property owner sent me here after they told me they didn't have any vacancy, and boy am I glad they did. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was something special. Sebastian greeting me at the front desk, giving me all the details I would need to make the most of my stay. I may be a bit biased, as I had the place all to myself, but the energy, atmosphere and people at The Riv made it feel like home away from home. After taking the bags to my room, I found it was the most comfortable, warm, beautiful modern-renovated room with an amazing view of the frozen river. Downstairs, I was immediately greeted for drinks at the bar (free champagne for the special occasion), thoughtful craft cocktail menu, immaculate wine list, 5-star

This restaurant was the epitome of fine dining! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and they welcomed us with glasses of champagne. We were astounded that establishments even do that anymore! From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for a pleasant experience. Our waitress was excellent with her recommendations, as the service was top notch. This place served some of the best noodles I have ever had in the Lobster Bucatini. The drinks were solid, but nothing overwhelmed me enough to recommend. The outdoor seating was delightful and the staff was attentive with water refills, to accommodate for the warmer weather. We thoroughly enjoyed this place, and would come back due to the service alone. Wonderful restaurant to celebrate the finer things of life.
