This place used to be awesome and the place our family visited every summer for years! Now we can't even get the office to respond when we need to alter our reservation even though we are months out from when we were booked. So beware. We are still hoping for a positive outcome and I will update the review if that happens. Update: The office did respond and we received our refund. We appreciated their response.
Such a shame as the view, of the Columbia River, from this property is stunning. I booked one of their tiny houses for a 2-night stay and didn't even stay for one. No soap, shampoo, washclothes and the sheets did not appear to have been washed. The smell, in the cabin, suggests that no one had been in there (and trash had been left) for quite some time. It is such a great location, and it wouldn't take much to turn it around, but the owner / caretaker just doesn't care.
We came to stay here for 3 days. We found our time here very relaxing. We had a wonderful spot with a great view of the lake and really everything. Everyone at the park was very welcoming and friendly. The lake is just a short drive down the hill and if you want to rent a boat down at the marina, there’s boat rentals available too! I was impressed by the staff in the store, very nice and friendly! The girl in the store makes great coffee too! We enjoyed our time here and are making plans to come back next summer.
For over two decades, I've cherished my visits to the River Rue. Recently, however, I was saddened to discover that the unique charm and soul that once thrived in this place seems to have diminished significantly. Upon arriving, our drive behind the main building to the campsite was marred by the sight of an eight-foot-high pile of garbage spread along the backside of the building. Dishearteningly, this was merely 10 or so feet away from our designated camping spot. The inside of the store, which was once a cozy, well-stocked space, now bears little resemblance to its former self. The selection of items available has dwindled to about half of what it used to be, and what was once a bustling restaurant now houses nothing more than a bare counter with a sales terminal. Additionally, the l
We just enjoyed 3 nights and 4 days. Our camp spot has an amazing view. Lots of big shaded trees in the campsite. The store has some of the best ice I have come across. The store is also very affordable for being in the middle of nowhere. Campsite was designed for smaller trailers, Big trailers can be brought through, however you need to be a skilled driver. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back for a longer stay. We loved the river rue!
