The Ranch At Ucross

A lovely peaceful ranch in a very secluded location. |The ranch and rooms were all clean and tidy, it is obvious that the grounds are taken care of.||It seemed to us that the ranch was under fairly new management as all staff we spoke to had recently joined and were under going various forms of training, however this did not effect our stay. All staff were polite and friendly. ||The ranch itself mainly caters to bus tours that arrive during the day, so be aware that at times the facilities can get busy. The setting is beautiful. Food service is very disorganized eg biscuits were placed on the lower level with sausage gravy on the steam table.

Lovely ranch with good lodges. A lot of the rooms had 2 queen beds but there were a couple with 1 bed and a sofa bed. No coffee makers in the rooms. Dinner was good but breakfast wasn’t so good. Beautifully kept horses. Has a tiny outdoor pool to sit in and cool down not for swimming but would be great in the hot sun.

We arrived at The Ranch at Ucross with open hearts, hoping to volunteer and contribute positively, especially as we navigate a deeply challenging time in our lives after losing our youngest daughter. My husband's extensive experience as a combat veteran and paramedic, coupled with our shared knowledge of business operations and equine care, meant we came prepared to offer meaningful assistance. However, our experience was incredibly painful and degrading. The manager, Ruby, showed a complete lack of empathy, despite being aware of our personal circumstances. She subjected my husband and me to verbal harassment, simply because we offered ideas to improve teamwork and ranch duties. Her management style is not only abusive towards people but also neglectful towards the animals. We witnessed h

We spent one night at this ranch as part of our TAUCK tour. We had bugs in our room. Not just one but about 10-15. We called the front desk and the emergency number and no answer or return call. Also brought to the manager’s attention the next day and she was not concerned at all and didn’t apologize. Her comment was we are in the woods and have bugs and they were even in her house. She asked if I wanted her to pack up the bugs to take home. I felt like she was making fun of me. We have bugs in Florida but not in my house or on my pillow and don’t have to deal with them while we are sleeping. I have been in the service industry for over 45 years and this was totally unacceptable.
