No key for door. Lock didn't work. Paint falling off ceilings. Room was frigid. Blankets were thread bare. Towels also. The bed sheets were filthy. Obviously hadn't been changed. We are used to staying in older motels but this one by any standard was the worst we have ever been in.
Arrive around 5pm Noticed only one towel in bathroom. Toilet paper roll almost empty. A sliver of bar soap in tub with hairs embedded in it. No one knew how to get the Tv to operate. 7 am breakfast bar was cereal and waffle maker which was all goobered up and about 2 ounces of milk in frig for cereal. The room was basically clean and comfortable and the price was the best thing about it. Could be a really nice place with some proper management.
Most important:bathroom was clean. Shower spray was good. Refrigerator worked. No bed bugs. Otherwise our room was not ready till 8:45pm. We had made a reservation and had checked on it at 3:30 and 7:30. We had minimal towels, no soap, TV did not work. Blinds were broken. Person at desk apparently didn't realize that guest standing at desk was someone she needed to talk to. There were no blanket on the bed and it was 60. Bed was hard and noisy. We won't be back. back.
This is an older motel that has just had some remodeling and redecorating done. You can still see the age, but the room we had was clean and comfortable. The friendly family management is generous with toiletries and puts bottled water in the room. Morning breakfast had fresh coffee, fresh milk, orange juice, bagels, bread, butter, cream cheese, dry cereal, bananas, granola bars, and assorted pastries. A toaster was available for the breads.||||The highway is not very busy at night and even with a window open, it was quiet enough to sleep well. The beds are pretty firm and comfortable. The price was excellent for what we got.
We ended up staying here quite by accident. We were about 30 miles away looking for a motel, I "googled" and found this. It is a great little motel, exceptionally clean! We stayed in a king room. The bed was good, Plenty of pillows, table and chairs, flat screen TV, AC worked, shower and water pressure were good, no offensive smells of an older motel!||||Continental breakfast was good. There are picnic tables outside to enjoy. The management is attentive and on-site. The rate was quite fair. We would stay here again on our way over to see the sights on the Mississippi. So much quieter and easier to get to. ||||We were referred downtown to a little pizza place by the manager, it was a good find, as well. Good food and a good price!
