The Norwich Inn

Our visit to the Norwich Inn was terrific. We booked at third floor room (there is no elevator) and Gretchen at the front desk gave us a choice to move rooms and offered to let us see both as well as an endorsement that the room we booked was "worth the climb." She was certainly correct as the room we booked, and stayed in, was beautiful. The bed, after an additional climb, was comfortable and provided a good night rest. The Inn is right downtown close to many points of interest (like the King Arthur Baking School) and overall a charming overnight. We also ate at the restaurant which had excellent food and service.

This is a beautiful hidden gem in Vermont. Cozy smaller inn where staff makes you feel part of a family. Rooms are large and parking is easy. Food was great. Nothing bad to say about this place.

This place failed miserably as an upscale historic property. The room design and layout were good but the carpet was disgusting - dirty and stained. We were paying $500 with taxes and this room should not have been rented. Additionally, nice properties today have moved away from bespreads and blankets that get laundered at best a few times a year. Nice hotels today have top sheeting or duvets and duvet covers that are laundered at each turn. Service was very unprofessional in the hotel as well as the dining room. The server was leaning on the back of a chair as he took our order, the desk agent was eating her breakfast as we checked out. She made no attempt to inquire about our stay and was only interested in getting back to breakfast. Breakfast buffet was very poor. Tables weren

Dave the innkeeper and his staff are excellent. Warm greetings upon arrival, love the text message asking if we needed anything, and comp shuttle for a drop off downtown was so convenient! We had dinner one night at the inn, excellent!! Thanks for a great getaway.

Great stay! My room was very unique with antique furnishings, and the bed was comfy. The shower was hot, and the beer in the pub downstairs was spectacular.
