The Mingo Saloon & Lodge

I cant say enough about our stay!! When we rolled up on our bikes, we all said that we loved it already. Such an Oasis in that area. Andrea checked us in quickly and made sure that everything was just as we needed. She was there to take care of us with her nice smile and beautiful demeanor. We visited the bar and then had a great meal in the restaurant. The bed was comfortable in the quaint room. Everything was very clean for our entire group too. She even made us breakfast the next morning and took our pictures. We all enjoyed our stay very much and if we ever get back that direction, we will most definitely stay there!!

Mingo came in clutch after we high tailed it out of a disastrous AirBnB reservation at 10pm on a Saturday night. They were wrapping up their own evening excitement when we came in, fingers crossed, looking for 2 available rooms for our party of 8. Thankfully, they had the vacancies and were able to hook us up, and all with a smile on their face. Morning came and we were able to find fresh coffee in the breakfast room, morning snacks, and good conversation, along with some good advice on where to find some Christmas trees. Cant say we'll be in the area again, but if we ever are, we'll bypass the AirBnB options and go straight to Mingo!

We stayed here for one night prior to making our way to Shenandoah National Park. Given that we were traveling during the COVID pandemic, the owner Will was extra careful about health safety and we appreciated the precautions taken in terms of social distancing during our stay. When we arrived, our rooms were ready for check in. The hotel was extremely clean, which was reassuring and made us feel very safe. The room was quaint and charming. The bathroom was spotless and had fresh, clean towels. The bed was comfortable and also had great pillows! Flat screen TV, microwave and mini fridge in the room and also very clean. Will the owner was so hospitable, kind and informative. He provided several recommendations of excursions and hikes to do in the immediate area as well as a local brewery fo

What a gem! Mingo Restaurant is not just a great dinner spot, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back for your most important occasions. I first came in for dinner with a friend, and our server Ann was outstanding — attentive, warm, and hustling all evening to make sure every detail was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, and the overall experience left such an impression that we immediately decided this would be the place to host a special event.
