The Mark At Surfside

My brother and I stayed at The Mark At Surfside in December for 12 days, each with our own apartment. The location was great, near the beach. The area was overall quiet and peaceful. That said, neither of us enjoyed the stay in the apartments. Furniture was minimum and except for the bed, everything else (bar stools and sofa) was near impossible to sit on. The stools had no padding and the sofa felt like sitting on springs. It caused severe back pain and was pretty awful. There were no drawers for clothing or any real furniture to use in a practical way. My brother is a medical patient and we thought to end our trip with a nice place near the beach for healthy evening walks. But there were issues getting packages delivered to the premise, which made it impossible to receive medical suppli

Hotel is extremely old and the new owners have invested a lot of money to renovate. That being said, the renovations are only minimal and I do believe the ground units have flooded in the past. I rented Apt 4 with 2 bedrooms and small kitchenette. I own a house just down the street and needed extra beds for family. The expense was reasonable and the pics online make the place look really good and accommodating. Beach rentals exist in extreme weather conditions and upkeep is expensive. This I know. We checked in with a keypad. The smell of OLD and MUSTY with an overtone of heavily sprayed pesticide was almost unbearable. After a couple hours you get used to it, ugh. There was a large hole in 1 bedroom ceiling tile which was concerning. Chest of drawers was missing 2 full drawers.

When my wife showed me on line were we were staying i flipped my lid we always stay at ocean view.but when we got in our room it was so much nicer the the outher place and big we always travel with our two Boxer dogs and we were so much more happier here quite nicer and larger .we have found our new spot to stay when we come here to surf side Texas.

We had a wonderful stay in the beautifully remodeled house. The home was decorated so cute & felt very welcoming. With a family group, we all had comfortable beds with nice linens and towels. The kitchen was equipped so well we cooked most of our meals in. The air conditioning worked great! It was a short walk to the beach which made the location great for us. We would highly recommend this nice beach house and look forward to staying there again!

Everything perfect other than biggest complaint is hot water in tub/shower set to cold had to suffer luke warm shower first night and second night ended up using pot from kitchen and hot water from bathroom sink to fill bathtub for hot bath. And bed in room was to hard so hard time getting restful night sleep and waking with sore hips and shoulders. This was room 10 not sure about the others because this was first time staying here.
