The Lodge at Sugar Bowl

We recently stayed two nights at the hotel at Sugar Bowl. While the room, restaurant, and balcony updates were lovely, and the majority of the hotel staff were kind and professional, our overall experience was highly disappointing. On the first morning at 7:50 a.m., we were woken by loud drilling and hammering directly below our room. We reported it at 8:05 a.m. and was told by the hotel manager, Jose Ti, that he would “look into it,” but we received no follow-up. Later that day, when we went to inquire about the status of the morning construction noise, the front desk staff were responsive and seemingly understanding. The manager, Jose Ti, then came out to the reception area to let us know that the issue had been “addressed” and that construction would begin at 8:30 a.m. going forward, ho

The room was so nice and the beds were so comfortable. We definitely plan on staying here again!

Staying at the Lodge at Sugar Bowl really adds to the Sugar Bowl experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We park our car in an enclosed garage. They unload all of our luggage and ski equipment from the car, load it onto the gondola, unload it from the gondola, and bring it to the room for us. There is a locker downstairs to keep the skis overnight. They take all the hassle of schlepping luggage and ski equipment out of the ski experience. Once we were done skiing for the day- we never had to go outside in the cold evening. There's a lovely restaurant, congregating area around the fireplace, and a pub all in the same building. The last of the old-school Tahoe resorts with excellent runs, friendly care from a great staff, and European charm. I stayed here every year as a kid with my family and I was so pleased to see that the charm I remember so well is still there. We could not have been happier to be there even though the weather did not quite cooperate: a sign of a great place to stay! The mountain crews, the hotel staff, and the servers are all so friendly and genuinely helpful, it is such a breath of fresh air - no doubt a sign of great management with a heart to preserve SB's legacy. We’re here for a summer wedding and this place is phenomenal. The staff is very kind, it is tastefully decorated, the view must be on anybody’s bucket list. The activities run by the Lodge will make for some lasting memories: an incredible beach party, with kayaks, and an incredible alpine lake scenery. The cherry on top was a cocktail party on top of Mount Disney. Unique, sophisticated, and well run.
