The Lodge at Poncha Springs

We stayed for three nights for a ski weekend and definitely will come back! From the moment we arrived, the owners created a relaxed and comfortable environment for us. Our room was very nice and had all the creature comforts we needed. Major bonus that the owner was willing to let my dog out for a bit while we skied. Also really loved the location - charming quiet little town with beautiful views and just a short drive to skiing/downtown Salida.

Wonderful renovated motor lodge. Super clean and spacious, comfortable king bed, good bathroom and shower, fridge / microwave, all in excellent condition. Owner was kind and accommodating and provided good local tips. Breakfast at Flamimgo food truck next was delicious. Also, Elevation Beer company was down the road and fun with good food truck. 5 minutes to Salida by car, We had a great stay and highly recommend.

Very friendly check in, comfy bed, cute and quaint. Would give it more stars, but unfortunate the walls are super thin so your experience really depends on the respectfulness of other guests. Room is small. The outside blue lights, although cute in appearance, shine super bright into the room.

We had a lovely evening beside the firepit on the magical patio. The owners Jimmy and Dawn are terrific folks, really kind, working hard to restore a sweet roadside chalet. It was an antidote to hyper-modern corporate coldness. Charming, cute, warm and sweet.... like a mug of hot chocolate for the soul! Great summer spot too, can't wait to go back.

This is a cozy and affordable place to stay near Monarch Mountain. If you're coming for the slopes, it's just about 15 minutes away, The Lodge at Poncha Springs offers cozy rooms, hot water, basic amenities, and quick access to restaurants that service breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inside the room, there's a few small windows that you can open for fresh air and an electric heater which you can adjust to your preference. I would recommend to anyone who is a sensitive sleeper to bring earplugs because the walls are quite thin and the location is near a busy street ("the crossroads of the rockies").
