The Lodge at Carlin Bay

I was part of a local group of 11 arriving to enjoy the food truck fare. Unfortunately, we chose one of the “prime rib” nights— apparently booked up for two years. Also unfortunately, the restaurant does not publicly share this info on the website. Seating left for food truck patrons are a couple of picnic tables in the sun. I believe the new Carlin Bay owners have chosen to forgo the local crowds for the high-end visitors. ( prime Rib dinners are a 250 a piece) I was part of the local crowd a few years ago hearing about the great plans for the property— and was excited about the change. This company needs to rethink their values. If it’s high end visitors- make this a private institution. Or if you want to serve both groups- communicate which nights are for the local crowd.

Last year's donuts so much better understaffed for the amount of people that came. Dishes not cleared we had to request numerous times for water refills. It was nice to have a very nice dock service.

Went in to have lunch yesterday, friend gave the hostess her name and the hostess blew her off. Went to the manager and she talked to the hostess. The manager told us they are getting our table ready. The hostess kept walking by and giving us a fake smile. Now mind you there are 6 tables empty in the area we were at with no reserve signs on them. This went on for 10 more minutes so we left. If you can't hostess you shouldn't be working there. My friends and I live here yr round and support this restaurant but if this continues we may have to stop.

Terrible today! Arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon. We were told it was a 20-40 minute wait for a table. There were over 12 unoccupied tables that we saw ..we were told they were all reserved...there were not "reserved" signs on the tables ....several people left as did we. Hostess was not very accommodating....we suspected it was more of a staffing issue than a reserved table issue. The hostess didnt even recommend we wait in the bar....lost revenue from the 6 of us!

Nice place with friendly people. We didn't have food there, but the menu looked good. Bases on a conversation with the folks there they are getting ready to tear the place down in 2019 to build what looks like a nice four story replacement building...
