The Lancaster Motel

My daughter and I were here for a wedding. Communication left a lot to be desired. It was nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone and contact was via text. I requested an early check in due to our travel and I was allowed to check in early which was very nice. We were told it’s an old property and to let the water run a few minutes to get hot. I expected 5 or so minutes but it’s more like 20. I had to take an ice cold shower the first night. When I reached out to Ruby, she was not very pleasant but she was on her lunch break and not near by. The beds are extremely comfortable, room is large but note the bathrooms are very tiny. This little nondescript motel exceeded all our expectations. Ruby the owner went out of her way to reserve a picnic table, grill and patio space for my family. The kids played safely outside, and the adults enjoyed cocktails in the lounge. The bar has one of the better whiskey selections you will see for one of its size. The secret speakeasy was certainly a highlight. I would never expect the Cigar lounge to have such a well stocked humidor. A MUST SEE! The family had a fantastic time, and the location is ideal. A hidden gem!

We stayed here while the Lancaster fair was going on. Ruby had mentioned there would be no cable or internet while we are staying there due to them selling the place. Which at the time we had no choice but to stay there as everything else was booked. And we lived over an hour away from Lancaster. So we stayed. Got there and checked in no one was at front desk had to call. I had received not one but two emails after the fact of being told there was no WiFi saying that there was WiFi. So I had called the number I had and Ruby was nothing but rude. Giving me attitude telling me she had already told me that there was no cable or WiFi I told her I received two emails and she told me I didn’t. Great little spot in downtown Lancaster, close to Santa's village. We stayed in a double queen room with our two kids. It was bigger than I expected based on the pictures and clean. Everything was great. Was able to use the grill to cook some meat. Locked ourselves out and the nice lady in charge was quick to come by and let us into the unit. Great location within walking distance of stores and restaurants.

It's a local staple for a good night stay, when visiting;I was here to hangout for the live music and fun atmosphere. Eclectic reminders of bygone times fill the entry and lounge, it's awesome how instantly stress rolls off when I walk into this place, looking at everything as I walk through to the bar. I have only been there a few times, but I have been remembered, accepted and feel right at home each time. The bartenders are friends, and it feels good to see people I know and meet others who know my friends as well as or better than I do. There is also a cool "hidden" room in the bar, a cigar lounge leading to an outdoor patio. Everything says "class," with easy sophistication and comfortable leather seats.
