The Innstead Mountain Getaway

Loved this place. Just happened upon it online and cabin interior (Iron Ore) had a cheerful modern vibe with thoughtful comforts and large windows to absorb the scenery. Don’t be daunted by the ladder to the lofted bed. It provides some humorous adventure and the views from up top there are compelling while lounging in bed. My husband called it “Going to heaven;)”. The vast property is pretty in snow-cover and the trails with deer are right out the cabin door. We’re not skiers but contented ourselves with trail walking and drives through surrounding towns we encountered years before when we married. This place is an anniversary gem. Pls put it on your radar.

We enjoyed our two-night stay in the upper guesthouse in late September. The mountain views from our cabin were spectacular from the beautiful outdoor decks. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen including a very large refrigerator/freezer. The king bed was super comfy and we appreciated the high quality linens and accommodations. The innkeeper was very responsive to a few questions we had. The bathroom was just a few steps (through the kitchen) from the bedroom -- not a problem, but just a heads up to others that your bath is not ensuite with bedroom. Also note there is no dishwasher or TV, but we didn't really miss either one. All in - 5 stars for an exceptional place surrounded by the beauty of the white mountains.

We loved the Innstead! Ore Hill was wonderful, every amenity we could have wanted was included in or around the cabin. Everything was clean, organized and little things like filters provided for the coffee machine or ice trays pre filled when we arrived made all the difference and was a very nice surprise. The only thing we would suggest would be to go during peak fall or winter as the end of November was the in between of no snowfall and not much color left on the trees. We would have loved to see the colors or watch the snow from the big windows! Next time!

Our family of four had a great time here. It was clean and well furnished - it felt like home. The cabin had everything we need to enjoy our stay. The hosts have made the accommodations friendly and inviting. Our kids enjoyed unplugging and checking out the trails and apple trees. The doghouse was their favorite part of the property.

The Innstead was the perfect spot to host my son and his friends in August for a rest stop during their Appalachian Trail hike. Siobhan and Bill are great hosts, and the lodgings and amenities are first-class, particularly for such a remote area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
