The Inn At Woodstock Hill

My family held my baby shower here in January, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. The room comfortably held all my guests (I believe altogether there were around 42 of us) and there was plenty of delicious food for everyone. The desserts were especially tasty. My mom designed our cake, and they had their in-house (I think? Certainly their recommended) baker make it for us, and words can't express how beautiful it turned out - see attached photo. It was truly perfect. The owners and staff went out of their way to make sure everything went off without a hitch, that all our needs were met, and that we had the best experience possible. The Inn is a beautiful place in a bucolic setting, convenient to Putnam and other surroundings. Our third floor room was charming and created a warm setting for two evenings. The staff were hospitable and helpful. Our breakfast went beyond expectations with eggs, meat, a hearty cup of coffee. I recommend the Inn for a special event, local getaway or to host visitors.

It was a very beautiful Inn with great charm. We unfortunately were basically the only guests at the inn and it felt deserted. The breakfast was very underwhelming. There was no warmth that a bed and breakfast should try to convey. The so called scrambled eggs felt like they were microwaved and bacon was thin like a continental breakfast at a chain hotel. There was no homemade pastry or even cookies for afternoon tea or anything offered to make it feel like home. No fireplaces were ever on throughout the inn and even in the breakfast room to warm up the room for both temperature and ambiance and our server actually had her coat on the entire time she served us. Booking a private birthday celebration for 30 people was incredibly easy thanks to Karissa. Communication was wonderful, the event space was laid out perfectly for our needs, and the parking and entrances were very convenient. It’s truly a beautiful location and venue. That said, when a significant portion of the budget goes toward a plated, served meal (around $65 per person), the food quality really matters. Unfortunately, the meal did not meet expectations. Examples, the potatoes were so undercooked that a fork couldn’t go through them, and the pasta, rice, and chicken were very dry. No one at our table was able to finish their dish. I spent an overnight at this beautiful Inn in early December 2025. I was meeting a high school friend from the 1960's for a day of antiquing in nearby Putnam. We were welcomed warmly and moved into lovely rooms. Mine had a fireplace that was so welcoming on a very cold day. The breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked by our charming Innkeeper Nuk.
