The Inn at Stone Mill

What a gem. This inn nestled into a former mill along side the babbling little falls is right out a Hallmark movie. From the lobby piano to the mail slots behind the desk you know it’s a classic spot. Rooms are simple but comfortable. The night we stayed was 9 degrees with the windchill and the room was spacious and warm. I like it a little warmer at night and was delighted to find and extra comforter on hand. The bed was comfy and I slept like a baby. My room had a leather recliner which I was a handy way to wind down. Despite its classic trimmings the WiFi was speedy, the staff was wonderful. The conference room and available kitchen were right out of the movies.

Beautiful older building with an elevator. We stayed in the 2 bedroom loft with a full kitchen and living room area. Very well appointed and the beds were Very comfortable. The girls in the office were very friendly and helpful. The young woman that was getting off work saw me struggling with a few bags and cooler outside and even brought them up to the check in desk. |There’s a little cafe that serves flatbreads, wraps and ice cream.|We ate at the pizza place for dinner and it was very good. There was 3 adults and it was the perfect place for us. If you’re looking in the area and price is not a concern you will not regret this choice. They own the Inn on canal across the street but they don’t have an elevator so this was perfect.

Some minor changes could make this place great! The location is beautiful, the building is beautiful. When you get to the floor where the Inn is located, it’s beautiful. It gives office building turned into a hotel, but they sure are trying. It’s clean and lovely. There is a wonderful housekeeper named Petra that is an absolute delight! The rooms are large ish. The decor is a little sparse and I question the placement of the mini fridge as a nightstand because the compressor is noisy and there is plenty of room to place it elsewhere, that would be my first piece of advice. Secondly, the walls are paper thin. I learned way more about the inhabitants of the adjacent room than I needed to know. Their conversation was clear and they weren’t speaking loudly. Considering the age of the building the rooms are decent. The walls are very thin. Didn't really encounter staff. They do provide free waters, sodas and breakfast items in the morning which was very good.

This inn is ideally located for bikers just off the Erie Canal trail, less than half a mile from both the trail and town center. It is set in a charming old stone mill, has clean, comfortable rooms with waterfront views. They have accommodations for your bikes either in room or down stairs. Their friendly staff and well-stocked common area—complete with snacks and refreshments—create a welcoming atmosphere. Guests also have access to a full kitchen, and a complimentary breakfast is provided each morning.
